It might terribly cliche to say, but I feel Art and Design are in my blood. It certainly runs through both sides of my parents family history.

I started as a Graphic Designer, but then found this incredible world of UX Design at a small start up in Durango, CO. A few years later, at an outdoor e-commerce company in Park City, UT, I found myself at a crossroad. The UX function was growing as was their need for the empirical user insights essential to the purpose of their work. I was given the agency and autonomy to pivot into UX Research given my experience.

I was then offered a founding position at a smart home security and automation company. I established the research and testing function for the company and through my tenure, help expand the team to 9 researchers (not a common circumstance in Utah). This position afforded me an environment to push research beyond UX Design and into all other verticals of the business; expanding my capabilities as a researcher and a leader.
